Virgin Games acquired by Gamesys

Breaking news as Virgin Games is acquired by Gamesys on 28th January (including Virgin Bingo). Virgin Bingo is a site that has always been run using Virtue Fusion software, which brings a standard level of service, games and promotions that players are familiar with. With the acquisition of Gamesys the entire set of Virgin Games have moved over to their in-house software that powers JackpotJoy and Sun Bingo. We know that Gamesys has a record of deep customisation for the major brands it powers. Also, Gamesys is respected within the industry and is a multi-award-winning software company. On the other hand while Virtue Fusion has the name of being the industry standard bingo specific software, their brands do not get the deep customisation on a brand by brand basis like is apparent with Gamesys powered brands.

The word on the street is that the acquisition spells a bright future for the Virgin Games brands moving forward. The fact that the Virgin brand is internationally recognisable is said to have had something to do with the move. This will likely surprise more than a few regular players and it will be interesting to see their feedback.

As things currently stand for Virgin Bingo, there is only one option listed within the bingo promotions section. Gamesys has completely cleaned house and eradicated all of the old ones. We believe this has happened as Virtue Fusion was running the promotions; therefore Gamesys will be replacing these with their own promotions. At present, players can go to Virgin Bingo and play BOGOF Bingo in the Enterprise room where 90 ball bingo games are held. The promotion runs daily and will be held over two sessions. The first session runs from 9 am until 10 am and the second from 7pm until 8pm. Over time we expect more bingo promotions to be added to the new incarnation of Virgin Bingo.

In the future, you would expect promotions of a similar level as Jackpotjoy to be hosted. If the promotions closely approach those at Jackpotjoy then we anticipate players being very happy. A past knock on Virgin Bingo was that there were lots of promotions that did not seem to change. We hope to see more unique one-off opportunities as things move forward.

Also in the revamp you will notice that there less bingo games to play. Again this will have been done because Gamesys is still working on the revamp. Among the choice of bingo games are:

  • Enterprise Bingo (75 and 90 ball)
  • Voyage 75 Ball Bingo
  • Adventure 90 Ball Bingo

Previously at Virgin Bingo, new players were able to register and deposit using PayPal. Thankfully, PayPal still remains as one of the main payment methods. Players can rest easy knowing that security won’t be an issue when depositing.

Speaking of depositing, Virgin Bingo has the same 200% welcome bonus that was available before. Players can still register and use their preferred payment method to claim this. The site recommends a £10 deposit in order to play with £30.
